Penny Barber's tutoring plan: Ricky Spanish, Sophia Burns

Class is over, but the real lesson is just beginning. Ms. Hensley (Penny Barber) keeps her student Sandra (Sophia Burns) behind for a quiet word, and it turns out cheerleading practice has been doing wonders for Sandra's pyramids and nothing for her grades. Luckily, Ms. Hensley has a fix: her darling boy Isaac (Ricky Spanish), a bright college student just a few years older, who happens to have plenty of experience tutoring young ladies. Sandra, relieved she won't have to trade pom-poms for report cards, agrees to a session after practice. Once Sandra's gone, Ms. Hensley phones Isaac with the good news: she's found him another girl. The next day the introductions get weird fast. The way Isaac studies Sandra makes her squirm, and mom's constant gushing over her spoiled boy doesn't help. Isaac insists on inspecting Sandra's 'study habits,' asking her to show how she writes. First he corrects her pencil grip, lingering a little too long on her hand and arm. Then it's her posture, so his palm goes wandering down her back. Then her legs need 'repositioning for better circulation.' Sandra buys every excuse, convinced this odd tutor is only trying to help her hit the books. Isaac tells his mother he's very pleased with how well Sandra follows directions. That's when the penny finally drops for our confused cheerleader. Ms. Hensley spells it out: she likes to set her particular boy up with 'very nice girls,' and Sandra's grades will magically climb if she keeps Isaac happy. Isaac sweetens the deal by pointing out she won't have to quit the squad or let her teammates down. With Penny Barber pulling the strings, Ricky Spanish calling the shots, and Sophia Burns caught between homework and a whole other kind of extra credit, this family-roleplay scene proves some tutors really do go the extra mile.
