She had a rough upbringing but not in the way that people would expect, which is that it all happened because she's trans. While she didn't necessarily have the support system she wishes she could've had, once she did come out to her family, they were accepting, especially since she has a trans sibling who came out before her. Even so, that doesn't mean her life is easy. Angelina's key takeaway from her experiences growing up and beyond is to just trust in yourself and be your own best friend. There's always a sense or urgency to figure out everything as fast as possible, to do everything right, and to be accepted, but she encourages people to take their time.
